Research directed by Gaulam Maulik of the Harvard Medical School, working with the University of Connecticut, compared this ocean-sourced plant calcium trademarked as AlgaeCal®, with the common forms calcium supplementation available today - calcium carbonate and calcium citrate.

From 2000 - 2005, researchers at Creighton University in Omaha, NE conducted a randomized study with 1,179 healthy, postmenopausal women. To qualify for the study, women had to be cancer-free for 10 years prior.

Researchers used a placebo, calcium supplement and calcium with vitamin D3 at triple the government's paltry RDA of 400 IU for middle-age adults.
